Professional Engineer - (Prince George, BC)
SUMMARY
TDB Consultants Inc. is aggressively pursuing our vision to expand our consulting engineering services to provide services in Forest, Resource and Civil engineering. To facilitate this, we are seeking to engage a highly capable Intermediate/Senior Forest/Civil Engineer, for our Prince George office.
Using considerable organizational, communication and people skills, the successful candidate will lead and work with multi-discipline teams to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, maintaining high quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion. Mentorship of new and junior employees is also a key part of this role and our organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants.
- Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
- Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids with technical construction specifications.
- Perform Forest engineering duties surrounding the following: resource road & bridge engineering design, bridge and road inspections, construction supervision, contract management, quality control/assurance, quality management, and site surveying.
- Perform Civil engineering duties surrounding the following: public works, buildings, sub-divisions, erosion control, drainage, traffic, road, airport, tunnel, bridge, water supply, sewage, and environmental systems.
- Manage construction document printing process.
- Manage project issues, budgets, and schedules.
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
- Meet with the general public and/or developers, landowners, and interest groups concerning zoning, subdivision projects, building projects, and engineering regulations, standards, or policies.
- Coordinate the activities between design and construction teams.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in the resource or transportation sectors, preferably with significant project and construction management experience.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with team members.
- Technical competence and strong attention to detail.
- Must be currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in the province of British Columbia.
